Changing Places is a campaign to help changes lives; particularly those of people with disabilities.
Several thousand people need improved toilets and that is exactly what Changing Places is helping to achieve. Many of us take public and standard accessible toilets for granted, however disabled people and those with profound learning difficulties, and their carers, require sufficient space and equipment in order to use the toilet properly and safely.
Changing Places toilets utilise the correct equipment, which includes a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench, a tracking hoist system or mobile hoist, adequate space in the changing area for the disabled person and up to two carers, a centrally placed toilet, a privacy screen or curtain, and a safe, hygienic environment.
